Wearable Resistance Salon

The Wearable Resistance Salon brings together activists, designers, artists and scholars to discuss the politics of dress — how clothing is used as a form of protest, resistance and political self-expression.

From the yellow vest to the suffragette sash, from the hoodie to the burqa, dress has always been a site of political contestation. The salon explores contemporary examples of fashion as activism, examining how designers and communities use clothing to make visible their demands for justice and equality.

An informal discussion format allows space for debate, disagreement and new perspectives on the relationship between fashion and politics.
